Do you worry? Have you ever not worried about something? Are you worried about something right now? You’re not alone.
Regardless of when or if you are worried about something, it is it ever worth it?
Bobby Mc Ferrin sang the song, Don’t Worry Be Happy. In it he sings that when you worry you make your troubles double.
“Here is a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don’t worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don’t worry, be happy……”
Imagine that, worry causing even more problems. Worry the bane of mankind has been with us forever and those more mature in their living have much to say about it. They can help us to understand why worry is not only a waste of time but also how we can avoid it and enjoy our lives more fully.
We recently came across an article by Karl A. Pillemer, PhD published on the Huffington Post. The article discusses the biggest life regret of the elderly. That regret was simply this,” I wish I hadn’t spent so much of my life worrying.”
And so I wanted to share this article with you. Read it and then reflect on where you are with worry in your life and what you could and should do about it.
